    Because it's fun.

    actually I didn't take part in the madness - no tv, no radio. We bought the book cause we like them - both of us do.

    but I don't get all the hooha about it.


    are you jealous cause Harry's more popular than you? and he doesn't even make kill whitey jokes?

    Here is my theory. (beware: reading imminent)

    Harry Potter is a fantasy character that kids can relate to because he is just like them. Kind of a nerd but possessed of a sharp ability to rise above threatening situations and slay the mythical beast (homeroom teacher, stepdad) etc. what have you as it were, so to speak.

    Plus he's magical and you know kids love magic and fairies and all that shit. Not to mention the publisher themselves bought about 12 million copies just to boost sales superficially that's how it goes when you play with the big boys.

    Nothing like prepackaged hype manufactured. Let's face it, if you think you are supposed to like something then you are going to rush out and get that for fear of being the only jackoff on your block who DIDN'T know what the fukc happened to Harry.

      Harry Potter is also the latest creation of the ZOG to distract the public from the very real threat of Islamo-fascist terrorists that are in reality sleeper agents for the CIA as part of the ongoing operation ARTICHOKE started in the late 50's and maintained by Bush 41 and his Carlyle group cronies.

      After being exposed to the mental ray Potter phenomenon hapless viewers morph into mindless automatons unable to discern quality entertainment from corporately financed dreck by the numbers. These people repeat the mantra: "Because it's fun" much like the Jonestown victims or the Heavensgate passengers on a first class journey to nowhere clad in a Hare Krishna jumpsuite and a pair of crispy black Nike Cortez.

      yeah...cause everyone knows I'm all about looking cool to "everybody".

      mmmm. no.

      I'll buy your fantasy character kids can relate to thing...but really there's more to it I think. have you actually read any of them? if you don't want to waste the $$ I think I've got a bunch on pdf and I'd be glad to send them your way - at least then you could know from whence you speak.
